Job ID:
REQID0001912

The Yu lab at Stowers Institute for Medical Research is seeking qualified postdoctoral researcher to participate in research in one or more of the following areas: molecular mechanisms of neural circuit specification, developmental plasticity of neural circuitry, and mapping neural circuitry involved in specific behaviors. The lab employs a combination of methodologies including molecular genetics, single cell genomics, fluorescent imaging, optogenetic, chemicogenetic and behavioral techniques. More details including selected publications can be found at https://www.stowers.org/scientists/c-ron-yu.

We seek candidates who are highly motivated and independent. Qualified candidates are expected to be recent recipients of a doctoral degree in the life sciences, chemistry or biomedical engineering.  Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable but not required: molecular biology, developmental neuroscience, genetics, immunology, electrophysiology, or imaging.

The candidate will be part of the postdoctoral training program at the Stowers Institute, a rigorous, 5-year training program designed to prepare and position postdoctoral research associates for successful independent scientific careers. The candidate will enjoy intramural research support from the Stowers Institute including those from technology centers that provide advice, training, and service to enhance the Institute's interdisciplinary and collaborative research programs. The facilities are staffed by over 100 scientists with expertise in bioinformatics, cytometry, histology, imaging, next generation sequencing, transgenic and ES cell technologies, proteomics and molecular biology. With individualized mentorship and career support, a firm commitment to scientific, professional, and personal development, and a welcoming and collegial community, Stowers Institute provides an unparalleled training experience and opportunity to obtain the necessary skills early career scientists need to excel on their own.
