The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has an opening for a Finance Partner. The Finance Partner plays a pivotal role in analyzing data, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving implementation of strategic decisions. The Finance Partner is responsible for the administration of budgets, financial planning, analysis and reporting for the Institute. The Finance Partner is a member of the Finance and Accounting team and reports to the Vice President of Finance.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for coordinating the consolidated budget and forecasts for the Stowers Group of Companies, including planning and communications to key stakeholders.
- Support executives and other budget owners by preparing annual budgets, forecasts and operating budgets for their respective departments.
- Develop and analyze financial data, observing trends in areas such as expense, headcount, revenue and capital spending.
- Prepare and present financial data and analysis to senior management.
- Support Finance Team by engaging in treasury related activities such as cash and weekly redemptions.
- Complete month-end review of results to ensure accuracy.
- Perform long-range financial modeling and analysis.
- Provide moderate to complex ad-hoc analysis to senior leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, with a strong focus on process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business challenges.
- Advanced experience with Excel is required.
- GAAP knowledge a plus.
- High level of attention to detail is a must.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- A team player who demonstrates and fosters a partnering attitude and capability to work with others in a positive and collaborative manner.
