Research Technician - LASF
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has an opening for a Research Technician to assist in maintaining and monitoring animal husbandry, health, production, and the physical surroundings in various animal care environments.
Responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring animal husbandry, animal health, animal production, and physical well-being to include cage changing as required, assisting with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species, disposal of hazardous chemicals and materials; ensuring adequate supply levels in animal holding rooms per current stock list; unloading autoclaves and VHP room as needed; maintaining accurate recordkeeping; complying with all standard operating procedures and quality assurance standards; and adhering to established protocols.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Weekend work and some holiday work will be required. Preference will be given to those with prior animal caretaking experience, and/or AALAS certification at the assistant technician level.
