Research Specialist - REQID0002010
Protein Molecular Simulations
Job ID: REQID0002010
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has an opening for a Research Specialist to join the Halfmann Lab. The lab studies a newly discovered but fundamental feature of biology: the storage and release of energy through nucleation-limited protein phase transition in cells. This research has broad implications for aging, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and ALS. The chosen candidate will contribute to the lab’s goals by performing atomistic and/or coarse-grained molecular simulations on both intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) and globular proteins.
Successful candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to lead a project both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail, tenacity, and the ability to multitask effectively are highly valued.
- A Masters or Doctorate degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, biophysics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of cutting-edge developments in biophysical models of protein-protein interaction is strongly preferred.
Submit the requested documents to firstname.lastname@example.org or to Administration Department, Stowers Institute for Medical Research, 1000 E 50th Street, Kansas City, MO 64110.
