Patrick Mitchell joined the Stowers Institute in 2019 as Director of Human Resources and was appointed Vice President of Human Resources, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in 2020. Mitchell has more than 20 years of experience in leadership development, recruiting, performance management, and employee engagement and retention. Trained as a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Mitchell uses a strengths-based approach to improve employee engagement and performance in the workplace. In 2020, he earned certification as a Senior Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP). Prior to joining Stowers, Mitchell held positions at a variety of financial institutions, most recently as Director of Training and Development at Community America Credit Union.
Mitchell received his undergraduate training in organizational leadership and his MBA in finance and management from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. He served on the Blue Springs Police Advisory Board from 2014 until June 2020.
