The Custom Protein Resources group at the Stowers Institute is seeking an experienced Research Technician to support protein expression, purification, and characterization efforts. This role bridges technical execution and scientific project management, contributing to high-impact research across the institute.
Key Responsibilities
- Express proteins in various systems (bacteria, yeast, insect, mammalian).
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot protein purification workflows using diverse chromatography techniques.
- Utilize analytical and functional characterization techniques to assess protein quality.
- Manage multiple projects and collaborate closely with other technology centers and principal investigator labs.
- Maintain detailed records and communicate progress with all project participants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biochemistry or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in protein purification and analysis.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in collaborative settings is preferred.
