The Zeitlinger Lab uses cutting-edge genomics approaches in combination with deep learning to study how gene regulation is encoded in DNA sequence. We are highly collaborative and interdisciplinary and use both the fly and mouse as model systems. The long-term goal is to decode regulatory information and genetic variation in the human genome, which is key to revolutionize medicine.

Who we seek? If you are a highly motivated individual with great organization skills, a passion for working in teams and solving complex problems, and have 5+ years of experience working in a molecular biology lab, then you are the candidate we're looking for!

About the role: Perfect for those looking for a stable position in a vibrant and exciting research environment. Your role will be to coordinate and support individual and team projects through organization, communication and experiments. You will generate tissue culture cells and fly cages for large-scale experiments and perform protocols for next-gen sequencing and CRISPR-Cas9 experiments. Additional responsibilities include assisting with lab maintenance, performing safety checks, chemical inventory management, waste handling, and data organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in a molecular biology or biochemistry lab
  • Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow and trouble shoot new protocols
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to be proficient in task completion

Experience with CRISPR techniques, fly work, next-gen sequencing libraries, fluid handling robots or genomic data analysis (UNIX, R) is a plus.
