Kristine Callis-Duehl, Ph.D., is the Executive Director of Science Coach, a national nonprofit that equips middle and high school teachers to mentor authentic scientific research in their classrooms. A plant scientist and biology education researcher by training, Callis-Duehl has secured more than $15 million in grant funding to advance STEM education, teacher professional development, and research on science identity and authentic research experiences. She serves on the board of the St. Louis Academy of Science and is a nationally recognized leader in authentic research experiences for secondary students and teachers. Her work focuses on building partnerships among K–12 schools, universities, industry, and nonprofit organizations to expand access to meaningful STEM research experiences, strengthen STEM education, and prepare the next generation of scientists. She is the recipient of numerous teaching and impact awards in recognition of her leadership in creating opportunities for students to pursue STEM careers.
