Seth Malloy joined the Stowers Institute for Medical Research in the Histology Technology Center in 2018, and was promoted to manager of Histology in 2023.

Before joining the Institute, Malloy spent five years with the Anatomic Pathology team at Children’s Mercy and has a background in both pre-clinical and clinical histology. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology with minors in chemistry and business from Baker University in 2009. He has been HTL certified by the ASCP since 2013 and has worked with more than 20 research organisms over the duration of his career.

Malloy is an expert in tissue embedding, sectioning, and biological stains, including special staining techniques, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry. He also provides support for researchers at the Institute in the areas of spatial transcriptomics and advanced imaging mass spectrometry, aiding in both experimental design, as well as the histological acquisition of areas of interest within target tissues.
