Ph.D., Biological Sciences, Pablo de Olavide University, Spain

Carlos Sanchez-Higueras is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Gibson Lab. He has always been fascinated by how gene networks evolve to shape animal body plans and physiology. Sanchez-Higueras' previous research involved using the fruit fly, Drosophila, as a research organism; however, he is keen to expand this exploration to Cnidarians, which offers a unique opportunity to journey back in evolutionary history and uncover fundamental principles of animal development.
